Cheap Car Rental Liverpool Airport

Liverpool Airport Car RentalLiverpool is a city in Merseyside in England. It was founded in 1207 as a borough and granted city status in 1880. It was historically a part of Lancashire. The urbanisation and expansion of Liverpool were brought about by the city's status as a major port. Almost 40% of the world’s trade was passing through this city by the early 19th century. The skyrocketing popularity of The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers and the other groups from the Merseybeat era made it a famous tourist destination. This sprawling city is best explored using car rental.

A lot of areas of the city centre were granted World Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 1994. The city celebrated the 800th anniversary of the foundation of the borough of Liverpool in the year 2007 and has since been the European Capital of Culture.

Liverpool houses some architectural marvels ranging from 16th century Tudor buildings to modern-day contemporary architecture. Most of the buildings are from late 18th century.  Pier Head is one of the most famous locations of Liverpool. It is renowned for three buildings – the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building.  Liverpool Town Hall is one of the oldest buildings in the area. It is located at the top of Castle Street and dates from 1754.  Visit it easily using car rental.

Speke Hall, a Tudor manor house located in the south of the city is one of the oldest surviving buildings and it is a great day out for all the family.  The Anglican Cathedral is the largest cathedral in Britain and fifth largest in the world and is only a few streets away from the Catholic Cathedral which was constructed during the 1960s.

Liverpool excels with museums and art galleries.  Some of the most interesting include the Museum of Slavery and the Maritime Museum which can be found at the Albert Dock.  Visitors to the Albert Dock can also indulge in some retail therapy as it is the site of a number of small boutiques.  In addition, Tate Liverpool is located at the Albert Dock.  In the centre of the city close to Lime Street Railway Station is the Walker Art Gallery, which is home to a number of works by artists such as Degas and Monet.

Liverpool car rental is easy to arrange and is a great way to visit all the attractions that this city has to offer.  The locals are friendly and welcoming and visitors will have a great time in this vibrant city.
