Cheap Car Rental Edinburgh Airport

Edinburgh Airport Car RentalEdinburgh is a beautiful city that dates back hundreds of years and is now the Scottish capital. Surrounded by volcanic hills, this city is in a very picturesque location.  With so much to see and do for visitors to the city, car rental is a must to explore as much as possible.

From the top of Arthur’s seat one can easily see the whole of Edinburgh and beyond. Arthur’s seat is actually an extinct volcano. Every year Arthur’s seat attracts a lot of tourists and visitors. The Salisbury Crags overlook the Old Town, which is a significant historical sight and which is a great place to enjoy the views of the city.

A place of particular interest in Edinburgh Castle is Robert the Bruce’s Foot Soldiers. Here one can see a beautiful display of soldiers. This is an accurate depiction of the soldiers in Edinburgh 700 years ago and is a great exhibit for those who are interested in the history of the local area.

In the centre of the city, there is the Edinburgh Experience. The Edinburgh Experience is perhaps the premiere tourist attraction in the city. The Edinburgh Experience has been created in an observatory which is almost 200 years old. Here a short 3D movie is shown which throws light on the history of Edinburgh. The movie tells how the city became the Capital of Scotland. This place is very popular and one can easily find a car park nearby, which is perfect if you have opted for Edinburgh car rental.

The Royal Observatory is in the Bruntsfield area. The Royal Observatory was moved to Bruntsfield in 1896, prior to which it was located in Carlton Hill. The Observatory was shift to its current position because of the light pollution. Every Friday there are telescope sessions in this observatory, however, it is not categorized as an operating observatory. It is mainly used as a telescope research centre for Scotland.

The Edinburgh Festival Theatre was built in 1830. It has been revamped and modified a lot since then. It had the last major renovation in 1994 and was opened to the public the same year. This is one of the most visited places in Edinburgh, popular with both the locals and the tourists. Throughout the year, the theatre is busy with dramas, operas and musical performances and it would be a shame to spend time in Edinburgh without taking in a show.

Built in 1867, the Edinburgh Crystal Visitor Centre is located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The main attractions of this centre include glass blowing displays and crystal glass shops. Alternatively make the most of car hire and head to the Edinburgh Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre. It is located in the Old Town. Here the visitors can learn about the distillation process of Scottish Whisky – something the locals are very proud of!
